These internships are held all year-round and are on a voluntary basis. All interns will be provided with a workplace, equipment (computer etc.), guidance and training. Interns will NOT be provided with flights, accommodation and meals. The location for the internship programmes will be at the CSEO Education Centre in Cyprus, with some activities running elsewhere. Administration, 2. Education and Outreach, 3. Promotion and Marketing, 4. CSEO Design and Research. Information on each available internship position is detailed below. With regards to participation in the various internship programmes, interns are encouraged to take part in as much as they can handle. Interns will NOT be restricted to the choices they have selected if it becomes clear during the programme that they are talented in other fields. The programmes displayed below serve as a guideline as to what an intern can expect, but in no way reflect the opportunity and extent to which an intern can get involved within the CSEO as a whole. If an intern displays the necessary skills and aptitude for their areas of work, they stand a chance to become regional ambassadors of the CSEO in those fields, taking on a highly unique and prestigious opportunity.1. Legal Assistance Internship To aid CSEO in legal matters such as generating and organising Memorandums of Understanding with CSEO's associates, as well as being part of CSEO's legal assistance team. Requirements: Legal education/experience will be of assistance. 2. Communications Internship To be involved in business communications and the distribution of information in commercial fields, particularly with international space organisations and space faring countries. Requirements: Knowledge of commercial communications will be of assistance. 3. Copernicus Academy Network - Administration Organisation of focus groups in Cyprus to identify Environmental, Industrial and Civil needs that can be solved with satellite data from Earth Observation and Monitoring. The focus group results will be used by Training and R&D groups to stimulate individuals and innovation start-ups to utilise space technologies in order to solve problems on earth. Requirements: Leadership skills 4. Trainer / Educators Assistant Trainers and Educators at CSEO education facilities (schooling) or other outreach events, spreading space and science education, assisting/giving public lectures, as well as the creation of training materials for schools. The continuation of tasks after the internship period is possible. Requirements: Academic knowledge in a scientific or engineering topic or education techniques will be of assistance. 5. NASA / ESA Trainer Assistant To assist established NASA and ESA professionals in the training of industry related fields. Great opportunity to receive training under the best space experts in the world. Requirements: Knowledge in organisational skills as well as education techniques will be of assistance. 6. "Space Club" Coordinators The "Space Club" Programme is a high profile and unique CSEO, NASA and ESA partnership activity to provide education, training and stimulate innovation. Requirements: Knowledge in education techniques will be of assistance. 7. Copernicus Academy Network - Training To assist in the education and training of the local space industry and/or innovation start-ups. Building on the results of the focus groups in (3) above, this group will train innovative start-ups/teams/companies and individuals in utilising space/satellite data in preparation of the activities of the Research & Development group (14) below, in order to optimally use space data in software and other earthbound space solutions. Requirements: Minimum 2 years in a Scientific or Engineering degree. 8. Editorial / Copywriting Internship Writing articles and publications, that will be distributed through all media outlets of CSEO, such as website, newspapers, social media and magazines. These will be covering space news, CSEO activities and events. It may also involve augmenting CSEO's website functionality. Requirements: Writing skills and scientific expertise in space and STEM will be of assistance. 9. Graphic Design Internship The creation and design of CSEO Promotional magazines and leaflets. Requirements: Creative skills and graphic design knowledge will be of assistance. 10. Film Production Internship The creation and editing of audio-visual material, short educational clips, trailers and documentaries for television and internet display. Requirements: Knowledge in multimedia, filming and audio-visual skills will be of assistance. 11. Economic Growth Planning Internship To formulate and execute economic strategies in order to ensure the financial growth and sustainability of the CSEO. To assist and organise sponsorship and marketing programmes and strategies. Requirements: Knowledge in marketing, advertising, business, finance will be of assistance.12. CSEO Space Center Design and Physical Modelling Internship The interior design and physical modelling of exhibits as well as improvement and expansion of the space center itself. Requirements: Knowledge of interior design and creative skills will be of assistance. 13. Research and Publication Internship The authoring and publication of academic papers as well as the participation in space research. Results to be presented at COSPAR Scientific Assembly and other International Space Fora. Requirements: Minimum 2 years in a Scientific or Engineering degree. Knowledge in programming languages such as MATLAB will be of assistance. 14. Copernicus Academy Network - Research & Development Building on the results of the focus groups in (3) above, and the training of teams on the use of space/satellite data (7) above, these activities will develop software, engineering and other earthbound space solutions that optimally use space data in solving earthbound problems that were identified during the focus group sessions. Requirements: Minimum 1 year in a Scientific or Engineering degree. Computing or Earth Observational skills will be of assistance. 15. CSEO Space Mission Participation Participation and assistance in the design, construction and analysis of one of three CSEO Space Missions. Possibility to become full time intern. Requirements: Minimum of 1 year in any Engineering or Physics / Mathematics / Astronomical involved degree. Electrical and Computer Engineering knowledge will be of extreme use. Due to the highly prestigious and confidential nature of this programme, candidates will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement. High levels of dedication and commitment.
